PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Portland Public Schools unveiled the results of a study finding most of the district’s high schoolers support “off and away” cell phone policies in class.
Results from the Personal Electronic Device study were released Oct. 15 and presented during Monday afternoon’s PPS Board of Education meeting.
During the study, PPS surveyed 2,147 high school students and visited schools using Yondr — a pouch that locks away student’s cell phones during the school day. PPS also held focus groups with students from Grant High School and Cleveland High School, which use Yondr.
